Surroundings / Situation

Santa Fe is an Andalusian town in the province of Granada, in the area la Vega de Granada, near the banks of the Genil River. There are three population areas: Santa Fe Town (around 14,000 inhabitants), El Jau (around 700 inhabitants) and Pedro Ruiz (around 200 inhabitants).

The whole area of the town is almost completely flat and unmountainous terrain.

Initially it was planned as a military camp by the Catholic kings in order to launch a final assault on the Nasrid dynasty in the Kingdom of Granada.
